2009 Forest River Sierra JD01A 30' Travel Trailer

2009 Forest River Sierra JD01A 30' Travel Trailer. Offers 2 Slide Out for extra space. Awning, Sleeps 4 people, A/C, and Leveling Jacks.

This is a great solid trailer. Forest River did not make many of these 2009 higher end Sierras with this floor plan. It is a great trailer in which to go backwoods camping or south for the winter. It is not designed to sleep more than 4.

The smaller slide-out is in the Master bedroom. This front bedroom has enough room to walk around the bed so you can actually make the bed without cracking a rib or pulling a muscle. The original factory mattress that came with this trailer is known as a short mattress. This mattress is 6" shorter than the standard full length queen size. I added a 6" x 6" x 60" foam block to the head of the mattress. Now the mattress area is standard queen size. The RV mattresses that come from the factory are hard and not at all nice to sleep on. So I purchased 4" foam bed mattress enhancer from Costco. Now, you can sleep like a baby- in luxury.

When you are not in bed, a pair of lifts will help raise the bed up, exposing a very large, huge might be a better word, easy to get to- storage area under the bed. The best part- Your nicely made bed stays that way. Even a senior like myself could lift this. However, for safety purposes, the weight of the nicely made bed may require a second person to help the lifted bed stay open while person #1 works in the under the bed storage area . The master bedroom has 2 amazingly large closets with mirrored doors and 3 built in drawers. There is also a long hamper like storage area located on the front wall of the trailer. There is an open area near the ceiling in the bedroom closet/drawer area where a smaller TV can be installed. I used that space for extra blankets and pillows. You can put a years worth of clothes in these his and her closets! I bought this trailer because of the high quality of the trailer itself , ample closet space, the extra storage inside the trailer, and the great layout.

A Beautiful Ornately Carved Wood Header is the most outstanding decorative feature you will notice when you step into the trailer. I promise it will get your attention. It is the inside frame for the 16 Ft. main living area slide-out. This first large open and spacious area, is the kitchen, and living area. It has a nice 3 level stacked pull-out pantry, a 3 burner propane stove/oven, a 3 way refrigerator/freezer, a microwave and a good sized double sink. The kitchen storage is ample. Cabinets are both above and below the counter in the kitchen and above the living area as well. Add to that, all the upper cupboards have decorated glass inserts in the upper doors to match the Master Bedroom glass door. VERY NICE ! I find the main area to be quite elegant - To include the massive wood carving on the big 16 ft. slide-out. Extra counter space is provided with a hinged section. It folds up when needed and down when not in use. I was told that the dining table and 3 chairs are collectible pieces by those in the know. The bathroom and kitchen have vinyl flooring the rest of the areas are carpet.

The couch has a storage drawer where you can put bed sheets, pillows, blankets for the couch bed. The couch folds out to create a platform where an double size air mattress can be placed. When the 2 main and bedroom slides are fully extended in this trailer, it is very roomy. The TV/DVD/CD/AM-FM Radio is positioned where you can see/hear from any spot in kitchen/living area. This is a very well designed and comfortable area. The TV area has over and under storage for DVDs CDs flashlights, books etc. The
There are a few more inside storage areas that you will find when you come see the trailer. There are 2 storage areas outside. I just cannot say enough good things about this trailer.

The bathroom is in the rear and is roomy. There is a 3rd good sized closet in the bathroom with another set of 3 drawers. The shower has a dome which provides both head room for the tall among us and natural light to take a shower. My 6'4" 185 lb. husband could get in the shower with no problem. The shower is a 5 sided enclosed shower with the front half being glass.

The roof and slides have a newer coat of sealant around all openings. I have found no evidence of roof leaks. It has 5 almost new tires with about 1200 miles on them. I have always had the trailer in a 3 sided covered stall when not in use. I have taken excellent care of this trailer and I am truly sorry to part with it. Everything works as it should !! It is built high off the ground to accommodate rough dirt roads for backwoods camping.

Outside there is a grill hook-up, a warm water shower to get you clean before you go inside. It has a nice wide electric awning. a rear ladder to reach the roof luggage rack and to attach extra gear while traveling. There are two outside storage areas for tools. I had custom made hooks for the outside ladder to carry lawn chairs and gear. The covered spare tire is brand new-never been used and purchased 1 year ago May. These are not discount tires. All 5 tires were purchased at the same time from a reputable company that deals strictly with heavy load trucks and trailers.
